Molly started her own business out of her house to make kids clothes that were comfortable, colorful and easy to clean. Her business boomed almost immediately, and within 20 months, she moved her business to a storefront on a busy downtown street in Washington, D.C.

Richard graduated from law school at the top of his class. In five years, he built his career and became exactly what he strove to be. In his early 30s, Richard was deputy general counsel with a major Fortune 100 company in Atlanta. Reporting directly to any company’s general counsel has its challenges, but this case was more high-profile than ever. His boss was expected to retire in a couple years and the company was open to considering younger candidates to replace him.
Richard came to Soaring Phoenix wanting to succeed in his career, but concerned that he was losing balance with his personal life. He knew that in order to succeed at anything, he would have to commit to a program that would put the focus back on what his focus originally was—a balanced life where he would, in his words, “live to work and love to live.”
Over the course of several months, we coached him to delegate work more effectively, hone his communications skills, and manage his time more consciously.
In one of the action plans Soaring Phoenix coached him to develop, Richard came up with a creative idea to build in a day off on any business trip that would last longer than a week. While he was away on business trip to San Francisco, he sent us a postcard:
“Here in SF and loving it! And look, I have a life! Not only that, but I think I’m about to get that promotion we were aiming for! I’ll check back in with you when I get back home.”
