Leili McKinley to teach classes funded by a grant from the A&B Foundation.

(9 A.M January 10, 2008)

Maui, HI, January 10, 2008: Leili McKinley, Managing Partner of Soaring Phoenix LLC will present two classes through VITEC, Maui Community College's Office of Continuing Education. The A&B Foundation provided the grant to make it possible for these classes to be offered to support the popular A&B Small Business Training Series.

Mrs. McKinley will offer two classes. The first is Start an Email Newsletter-Stay Connected to Your Clients! to learn how to use a low cost, internet integrated method of marketing. The second class Hiring (and Firing!) Practices for Small Business helps small business owners find and keep great people and avoid any legal pitfalls.

As quoted in the Maui Weekly

"Regarding class content, Instructor Leili McKinley said, “My classes span in two directions because I do small business consulting and I develop classes specifically for people in business and small businesses within a tight labor market. I put together a class on hiring and human resources because young businesses stumble over this. A piece that’s missing is new technologies that help with marketing, [such as] email newsletters. [They are] perhaps something new and scary, but have been around for five years. We’re trying to offer a new technology that can be integrated into Internet technology. It is a very cost effective technology that is cheap and easy to use.”

New ‘Human Capital Toolkit' eBook from Soaring-Phoenix.com Guides Small Business Owner Through Steps to Create Best Workforce

eBook spans the key elements of how human capital integrates with human resources for today’s small business owner.

Haiku, Hawaii. February 24, 2008 – Small business owners have a new tool for employee recruiting, training, and management: a new eBook, The Human Capital Toolkit.

The eBook was developed by Management Consulting firm Soaring Phoenix LLC, a provider of digital tools for small business owners. Aimed at companies that have 0 to 10 employees, the eBook is designed to help them plan their workforce development, reduce the cost of employee turnover and implement performance management.

It walks small business owners through a step by step system developed by Leili McKinley, managing partner of Soaring Phoenix, as a successful entrepreneur. Roger McKinley, contributing editor, fine tuned the approach based on leading practices in HR, from large companies like Accenture, refined to fit a small business framework.

The guide book breaks down the process into two core components. The first half of the book focuses on understanding the hiring process, employee development, employee motivation, employee retention, and lawful termination, while paying heed to both the federal and state laws pertaining to employment.

The eBook also examines the key elements of employee screening by developing good interviewing skills, outlining over 25 behavioral interview questions that small business owners and managers should ask.

The second component of the book provides over 50 + Human Resources Forms. Examples are: employee evaluations, offer letters, performance reviews, and employee accident reports.

"Small Business Owners suffer many demands on their time already, but it is imperative for them to develop a stellar workforce if they are to grow. Getting organized to be compliant can waste hours of time," says Leili McKinley, managing partner of Soaring Phoenix LLC. "No more -- this eBook guides owners and managers to blend traditional Human Resources and leading practices in Human Capital to achieve results in recruitment, efficiency, morale and retention."
